A NUMBER OF RESIDENTS IN AKOKO HAVING CORPSES OF LOVED ONES IN GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS ARE MOVING THEM TO PRIVATE HOSPITALS AS THE DEADLINE BY GOVERNMENT ON BURIAL OF CORPSES IS AROUND THE CORNER.

THE STATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL IKARE HAD RECORDED MULTIPLE DISCHARGES WHILE PRIVATE HOSPITALS MORGUE WERE WITNESSING INCREASE IN DEPOSITS OF CORPSES DESPITE THE HEAVY COST IMPLICATION

MANY HIGH PROFILE CORPSES HAD BEEN BURIED IN LINE WITH THE NCDC PROTOCOL IN THE LAST ONE WEEK IN AKOKO

REACTING THE CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR TO STATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL IKARE AKOKO, DR AYODELE OGUNLADE SAID GOVERNMENT ACTED IN GOOD FAITH BASED ON HEALTH HAZARDS ESPECIALLY WITH THE PRESENT PANDEMIC RAVAGING THE WORLD.

HE URGED OWNERS OF CORPSES TO COME FOR THEM BEFORE THE DEADLINE TO AVOID MASS BURIAL

AN OKA AKOKO COMMUNITY LEADER, CHIEF LAWAL OBAALEJO AND AN ANGLICAN PRIEST. VENERABLE FOLUSHO AKERELE URGED PEOPLE TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF DAYS TO KEEP THEIR CORPSES IN THE MORGUE AND STOP WASTING RESOURCES UNNECESSARILY.
