The Nigerian society of Engineers has donated five hundred thousand naira to Ondo State government to cushion the effects of the explosion that rocked Eleyowo community in the State on victims.

The explosion rocked the town along Akure-Owo express road on the twenty eight of March this year and destroyed roads, several houses and public buildings

Presenting the cheque to governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Akure, the Akure branch chairperson of the society, Dr Christianah Ijagbemi encouraged government to deploy the fund for the purchase of building materials for the victims of the explosion to enable them to return to their normal way of life.

Dr Ijagbemi also pledged some professional services to support government aside the preliminary assessment carried out by the society at the blast site.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu commended the engineers for the support to cushion the impacts of the explosion on the community

Governor Akeredolu also pledged to involve the engineers alongside indigenous contractors who would be working with the engineering section of the state’s ministry of work to improve on the state infrastructure.
