Additional seven hundred and fifty seven workers have been recruited into the Ondo State civil service
The head of service, Mr Dare Aragbaye made this known in Akure
while briefing the leadership of the organised labour on how the recent administration had affected the state civil service
Mr Aragbaye maintained that additional one thousand teachers would also be recruited in the next two weeks
The HOS explained that NCE and University graduates would be considered for the employment in place to boost the state’s education sector
On the delay of workers promotion due to covid-19, delay in payment of remittance and outstanding emolument of local government workers salary, Mr Aragbaye said government had been working round the clock to settle those affected
Responding, the state’s JNC chairman, Olaniyi Fabumi, NLC chairman, Sunday Adeleye and the TUC counterpart, comrade Helen Odofin encouraged government to ensure prompt payment of deduction from their salaries
On the dwindling allocation, the Labour leaders advised government to always look inward and also ensure that part of whatever came into the state’s purse would be used to settle the lingering outstandings.
