In less than twenty four hours that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu expressed worry over the spike in cases of coronavirus in Ondo state,
another eight cases of the disease have been recorded in the sunshine state.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease control,  The eight new cases are part of the five hundred and seventy three recorded yesterday in twenty states of the federation.

In the latest figure, Lagos returned to its high daily infection with two hundred and sixteen cases followed by Rivers which recorded one hundred and three, Sixty eight in Oyo whìe Edo had Forty new cases.

Other affected states and figures are Kano-21, Gombe-20, FCT-17, Delta-13, Plateau-12, Bauchi-12, Niger-10, Kebbi-9, Ogun-8, Abia-7, Nasarawa-5, Borno-1, Kwara-1, Benue-1.

With this, Coronavirus infection in Nigeria has risen to sixteen thousand six hundred and fifty eight while discharges have also gone up to five thousand three hundred and forty nine, indicating a significant increase in the last twenty four hours.

The virus has however taken four hundred and twenty four lives in Nigeria since its emergence in the country last February.
