The Nigeria centre for disease control has confirmed seven hundred and forty five new cases of COVID19 in the country, the highest single day infection since the outbreak of the disease in February this year.

Before now, the highest single day infection was six hundred and eighty one.

Ondo state also recorded its highest single day coronavirus cases yesterday with sixteen fresh infections bringing to one hundred and five the total number of cases in the sunshine state.

The NCDC in its daily covid19 update named Lagos as the state with the highest single day infection having recorded two hundred and eighty cases in the last twenty four hours.

Oyo is next with one hundred and three cases, Ebonyi, seventy two, the FCT, sixty while Imo recorded forty six.

Other states with new infections are, Edo-34, Delta-33, Rivers-25, Kaduna-23, Katsina-12, Kano-10, Bauchi-8, Borno-Kwara-5, Gombe-4, Sokoto-2, Enugu-2, Yobe-1, Osun-1, Nasarawa-1.

With the latest figure, Nigeria now has a total of eighteen thousand, four hundred and eighty cases of COVID-19.

Discharges have increased to six thousand three hundred and seven while four hundred and seventy five deaths have been recorded.
