Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has confirmed eighty new cases of covid-19 in Ondo State.

Disclosing this to newsmen at the government house in Akure, Governor Akeredolu said the recent figure was recorded within the last seven days

He explained that the state had a total of one hundred and fifty four confirmed cases, seventy one active cases while forty one people had been discharged with seven deaths.

Governor Akeredolu said all preventive measures remained in place, and appealed for more dedication to the use of nose masks, social distancing and frequent washing of hands

He urged the residents not to force him to lockdown the state due to the daily increase in the positive cases of the pandemic

Blaming the daily increase of the pandemic on non-chalant attitude of some residents, Governor Akeredolu added that adequate measures would be put in place to ensure people comply with covid19 protocols.
