With this season in the Nigeria Professional Football League yet to be decided, Abia Warriors have appointed former Nigeria’s Super Eagles assistant coach Imama Amapakabo as head coach

The 2019/20 season was put on hold after Coronavirus pandemic outbreak which affected sporting activities all over the globe.

Amapakabo has been without a job after he was relieved of his duty as the Super Eagles assistant coach.

The Umuahia based team concluded the appointment on Thursday after a successful interview. The former NPFL champion will be in charge of Abia Warriors for the next two seasons.

The energetic gaffer led the Enugu Rangers to its first league trophy after 32 years of wait before moving to El Kanemi warrior of Maiduguri where he has a season to forget.

He has also handled Nigeria’s Super Eagles B Team and the Dream Team
