Barely three hours to the APC Governorship primary election, one of the 12 aspirants, Mr Ifeoluwa Oyedele has declared his support for the incumbent Governor, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Mr Oyedele last night met with Governor Akeredolu at the Government House where he dropped his ambition and declared support for the reelection of the incumbent.
Some of his supporters were however taken unawares with the development.
Addressing newsmen at the government house in Akure, the erstwhile Governorship aspirants hinged his decision on the interest of the party
Mr Oyedele promised to work together with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in monday’s primary election for his success at the Guber poll.
The erstwhile Governorship aspirant who said he was not under any influence before the decision encouraged other aspirants to work together not to only reunite the party but to also ensure victory in the Governorship race
Governor Akeredolu commended Mr Oyedele for the selfless interest which he believed would remain indelible in the state’s political history.
