Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has been declared the candidate of the All progressives congress, APC for the October 10 Governorship election.
This follows his emergence as the overall winner of the governorship primary held at the Dome, in Akure, the State capital.
According to the chairman of the governorship primary election, governor Yaya Bello, Mr Akeredolu polled two thousand four hundred and fifty-eight votes to defeat other aspirants in the daylong primary election
The closest aspirant, Chief Olusola Oke (dd) who scored two hundred and sixty-two votes was followed by Mr Isaac Kekemeke (rrmd) who recorded nineteen votes
Ambassador Olusola Iji (dm) scored nine, Nathaniel Adojutelegan (rmmrmd) alongside Olajide Adelami recorded four votes each followed by Olajumoke Ajasin-Anifowose (rmrmr) who had two votes
Meanwhile, Awodeyi (rmdm) Akinsehinwa ( rmddm) and
Ife Oyedele came out with one vote each while Bukola Adetula ( rmrd ) came last with zero vote while thirty-three votes were invalid votes in the exercise
Addressing the gathering, governor Akeredolu encouraged the co-aspirants to work together with him and see him as the custodian of their visions for the development of the state.
Total number of accredited delegates was 3016, Total vote cast, 2793. Valid votes were 2760 and Invalid votes were 33.
Attention is now shifted on the People’s Democratic Party , PDP which is having its Primary Election tomorrow Wednesday 22nd 2020.
