The police in a joint operation with the soldiers and local hunters of Uba and Simerin Oka in Akoko Southwest of Ondo State have rescued the textile trader and her driver abducted three days ago without any payment of ransom.

The Divisional police officer for oka Akoko chief superintendent of police CSP wasiu Yusuf led the operation and with the assistance of the soldiers and the hunters , the hideout of the kidnappers was rounded up during which they escaped leaving their victims and their arms.

Recounting their ordeals , Mrs Agnes Akogun and the driver , Mr Opio the driver told Positive FM that they were dispossessed of their phones and money immediately they were captured before proceeding on roaming about the forest with thorough beaten while the kidnappers made contact with their relatives for ransom.

They claimed the abductors who they noticed were not so familiar with the terrains of the area spoke hausa language and fed them with yams and maize taken from farms as they went about the forest.

The trader’s husband , Mr olu Akogun was of gratitude to God and the security operatives .

The Divisional police officer for Oka CSP Wasiu yusuf vowed to apprehend the perpetrators and appreciated the support of the army ,the area local hunters and the area commander for Iwaro Assistant commissioner of police Funsho Iluyemi which led to the release of the victims.
