The National Leader of Afenifere , Pa Reuben Fashoranti has described the demise of his Pa Ayo Fasanmi as a personal loss to him, the southwest and the Nation as a whole.
Pa Fashoranti while reacting to the death of the elderstateman in Akure said the Late Fasanmi’s immense contributions to Nigerian politics and the qualities of honesty and uprightness which he displayed while alive would definitely outlive him.
The Secretary General of Afenifere , Bashorun Seinde Arogbofa noted that Pa Fasanmi and his contemporaries lived a life of Chastity despite occupying top political offices.
He said Pa Fasanmi would be greatly missed by his followers and the pan Yoruba group as he exemplified the welfarist philosophy of the Afenifere.
Bashorun Arogbofa who condemned the current crop of politicians for their greed for wealth urged them to learn from the legacies of forthrightness , contentment and selfless service left behind by the late Second Republic Senator , Pa Ayo Fasanmi.
The late elder stateman and Afenifere leader , Pa Ayo Fasanmi epitomised what service and politics should be in a country like Nigeria.
A don at Adekunle Ajasin University Akugba Akoko , Dr Gbenga Abimbola gave this impression about the late second republic senator who died on Wednesday.
According to the don , Pa Fasanmi was a professional who rose to becoming the president of Pharmacists , a politician of repute with a legacy and ideals of politics of development centred around the people.
Dr Abimbola said the present crop of politicians should learn and emulate Pa Fasanmi and his peers who shunned accumulation of wealth and money bag politics to impact positively on the citizenry.
Also speaking , a political analyst , Dr Adedayo Afe noted that Pa Fasanmi was one of the celebrated senators of the second republic who would also be remembered for the unique role he played in the creation of Ekiti State.
Late Senator Ayo Fasanmi who hailed from Iye- Ekiti in Ekiti State died on Wednesday in Oshogbo at the age of 94.
A Family statement indicates that his remains would be laid to rest in his hometown Iye-Ekiti, on Tuesday, 4th July 2020.
