THE organised labour union in Ekiti State has announced the suspension of its ongoing strike.
The workers had on monday embarked on a warning strike over the controversy surrounding the payment of their, outstanding salary, minimum wage and other issues affecting
According to the Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, the suspension of the strike is as a result of the aggrement it reached with the state house of Assembly committee on public service and labour matters that pledged on behalf of the state government that the agreement would be honoured.
The meeting at the State Assembly complex had in attendance, NLC Chairman, TUC Chairman, and JANC Chairman.
Others include, the state Head of service, Peju Babafemi, Chairman House Committee on public service & labour matters, Hon. Juwa Adegbuyi, his Vice Gboyega Aribisogan among others.
The Labour leaders urged the State Government to honour the agreements while pledging that it would soon visit the headquarters of the Benin Electricity Company in the State to picket the office and demand the reason for the power outage in the State, and the reason for
taking money for energy not consumed.
