Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu says effort is on to make amnesty program possible for the youths in riverine area of Ondo State
He revealed this while addressing some representatives of Ilaje and Eseodo youths in Akure
Mr Akeredolu explained that several steps and letters had been written to remind the federal government of its promise to include the State in the amnesty program
Governor Akeredolu blamed the delay on fraudulent list supplied by some stakeholders involved in the process
Describing amnesty as inalienable right of the riverine youths Governor Akeredolu pledged continual efforts to ensure the youths are included in the program
Earlier, the state’s commissioner for information and orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo said the meeting was to deliberate on the way forward since the youths submitted their weapons to the federal government
Among other security chiefs in attendance were the State Commissioner of police, Bolaji Salami and Brigadier General Zakare Abubakar of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure Cantonment
