OLUMIDE ABUDU
Ahead of the August 22 local government election, the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, ODIEC has embarked on training of ad hoc staff that will man various polling boots.
The two days training being conducted across the eighteen (18) local government areas of the state was to ensure that the ad hoc staff work in accordance with electoral rules.
Speaking with Journalists at the Akure South venue of the training, the Returning Officer for the council area, Professor Emmanuel Ogunbodede said seven hundred ad hoc staff are expected to participate the exercise.
Prof Ogunbodede noted that the training was important in view of the need to enshrine in the members of the ad hoc staff all the rules guiding the conduct of the poll.
On his part, ODIEC Commissioner in charge of Media and Publicity, Mr Rotimi Olorunfemi said the commission was poised to conduct credible, free and fair local government election.
Covid-19 Protocols are being observed at the trainning.
