Measure to increase capacity for the care of infectious diseases in the country,a twenty bed State of the art infectious disease center has been inaugurated at the University College Hospital.
Unveiling the plaque,Oyo State Governor,Engineer Seyi Makinde represented by the commissioner for health,Dr Bashir Bello said the citing of the project at UCH and another one at the Ring Road State Hospital by the donor would help to improve health care indices in the state.
Cheif Medical Director of the hospital,Professor Jesse Otegbayo noted that no government could tackle problems in the health sector alone hence the intervention of public spirited Nigerians remained a source of hope for the country.
Professor Otegbayo noted that One hundred and fifty nine vivid patients have been treated at the hospital with eighteen deaths
In a remark,the donor of the facility,Cheif Tunde Afolabi,represented by former head of service of the he federation.
Professor Oladapo Afolabi expressed appreciation for the opportunity to give back to the society.
The Infectious Disease Center has three private wards,a general ward, Doctors call room,Nurses bay and is equipped with CCTV for proper monitoring of patients.
