The two men abducted last saturday between Oba and Ikun Akoko, Akoko Southwest local government area of Ondo state have been released.

The men, identified as Surajudeen Alao and Ade Ikudaisi both indigenes of Oba and Ikun were released in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to a family member from Oba Akoko who does not want his name mentioned, a ransom of an undisclosed amount was paid to the abductors before releasing the victims.

Police source in Oba Akoko confirmed the release of the two men.

Meanwhile, It was jubilation galore in both Oba and Ikun Akoko when victims reunited with their families.

In the meantime, Residents of Akoko and travellers plying roads in the area have appealed to Government and security agencies to beef up security in on the roads especially Oba-Ikun, Afo- Idoani road as the criminal elements had shifted their operations from Ago Ajayi to owo axis now that a military camp had been located along Ajayi road that was notorious for incessant kidnapping and armed robberies.

Speaking on the development, a religious leader Rev cannon Foluso ogunsuyi appealed for a military location on the road while other sister agencies must patrol the area more.
