The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has been engaging in more training of its staff in Ondo State to ensure that the OCT 10 governoship election is conducted without hitches.

One of these trainings is a two day workshop organised for members of election monitoring and support center, emsc.

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmod Yakubu said the trainings were meant to ensure smooth operation of the commission in the forthcoming governoship election in the state.

Professor Yakubu represented by his special adviser to, Professor Mohammad Kuna noted that the workshop was meant to find out where they may likely face problems in the governoship poll.

The Inec Boss said the commission was fully ready to conduct the election in line with covid-19 directives.

Professor Yakubu urged the media to always promote social distancing among Nigerians especially residents of states where elections are taking place.

Also speaking, Deputy project coordinator, European Center for Electoral Support, Mr Manji Wilson said the EU would always render helping hands to ensure that elections in Nigeria were successfully conducted.

Earlier, Ondo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ambassador Rufus Akeju, while declaring the workshop open, charged the emsc officials to be dutiful to and works towards a credible election in the state.
