Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has voted in today’s local government election in Ondo state
Governor Akeredolu voted by half past ten alongside his wife Betty at ward five, Ijebu two, unit six, in Owo.
Describing the exercise as rancour free governor Akeredolu said the polls would afford ondo state residents the opportunity to democratically choose theiretheir leaders at the local government level.
The governor while speaking with positive fm’s Mandate studio however admitted that ODIEC erred by not supplying adequate voting materials to some polling units as experienced in Igoba, Akure North local government where eligible voters even protested the situation, ile oluji/okegbo area and a few other places.
Meanwhile, accreditation and voting commenced around eight o clock this morning in Owo.
There are 213 polling units with 11 wards in the council area and the exercise began by quarter to nine.
Security agents were fully on ground while the elders, security agents and electoral officials all abided by covid-19 protocols.
Some electorate including the chief of staff to the governor, chief Olugbenga Ale and the state’s attorney general and commissioner for justice, Adekola Olawoye described the council polls as peaceful.
