The Edo State Police Command has paraded six persons suspected to have been involved in the killing of a 21 year old 100 level Microbiology Student of the University of Benin, Uwaila Vera Omozua.
The six suspects, including a woman, were paraded alongside other suspects in possession of arms and ammunition by the Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr Johnson Kokumo at the State Command Headquarters, Benin City.
The suspects include ; Nelson Ogbebor ‘m’ (27) Agator Victory ‘m’ (24) Tina Samuel ‘f’ (45) Collins Uligbe ‘m’ (24) Mary Ade ‘f’ (45).
Others are Valentine Akato ‘ m’ and Nosa Osabohien ‘m’ (31)
Uwaila Vera Omozua, was raped and gruesomely murdered in May, this year at a Redeemed Christian Church of God in Benin City.
The prime suspect, Collins Uligbe, from Agbor in Ika North Local Government Area of Delta State, said Vera’s Landlady, Mrs Mary Ade, gave them One Million Naira to kill Vera who was her church member and wipe her Virgina with a handkerchief for rituals to enable her business to flourish.
However, Mary denied the allegation.

Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner, Mr Johnson Kokumo on the occasion, also hinted that the state Police Command have been able to recover sizeable number of arms that would have been used to disrupt the Edo 2020 governorship Election.
According to Mr Kokumo, “we have been able to recover a sizeable number of arms and ammunition that would have been used to disrupt the Edo 2020 gubernatorial election, on, before or after the election.
“The Edo State Police Command will continue to ensure that we recover all arms and ammunition that are in private hands,so that the Edo2020 will be held in an atmosphere of peace.” Kokumo said.
