Ondo State government has procured and distributed science laboratory equipment and mathematics training kits worth ninety million naira for sixty four secondary schools in the State
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu disclosed this at the commissioning and distribution of the equipment at the community education resource centre, Ayedun in Akure, the State capital
The mathematics and training kits included dynamic trolley set, demonstrator for the composition and resolution of force, retort clamp, photo meter, graph boards and gas cylinders
Describing science and technology as the veritable instrument for meaningful development of every nation in the twenty first century, Governor Akeredolu promised to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the scientific and technological advancement of the state
Governor Akeredolu charged all schools that benefited from the equipment and their administrators to put the the facilities into good use for optimum performances
Represented by the Special Adviser to the governor, Dr Olawumi Ilawole, Commissioner for education, Science and Technology, Pastor Femi Agagu said the step was to improve the quality of teaching and learning of science, technology and mathematics education in the state
Some of the students, Biola Adewale, Ebunoluwa Adesina and Nuhu Temitayo appreciated the state government for the gesture noting that the equipment would greatly enhance their academic performance
The sixty four secondary schools that benefited from the equipment included, Word of faith college, Arimogija manuwa memorial grammar school, Iju-Odo, community grammar school Ifira-Akoko and Owo High school
