The remains of Ondo state born veteran journalist, Mr Ayodele Micheal Ogedengbe have been buried in his hometown, Okeagbe in Akoko Northwest local government area of Ondo state.

Dignitaries, Families, Friends, Colleagues who accompanied the corpse in a motorcade to the ancient city wore long faces as they continued to mourn the loss of the late sports journalist who served humanity through the Pen.

The Okeagbe community received the corpse of the sports journalist with gun salute while traditional cultural groups also performed in honour of the deceased.

The casket bearing the body of late Ogedengbe was wheeled into the Archdeacon Lennon Anglican Church Okeagbe where an array of clergymen was already waiting to receive it.

This then signalled the commencement of the funeral service as led by Venerable Foluso Akerele who described death as inevitable which would come at any time hence the need for christians to walk with the Lord.

Venerable Akerele extolled the virtues of the late foundation member of the sports writers association in Ondo state saying he diligently served his community as the Secretary of Afa, okeagbe community, his family, as a responsible man and his state as a brilliant journalist.

The Clergyman urged the children of the deceased to emulate the attributes of their late father.

In a tribute, A school mate of the late Ayo ogedengbe at Ajuwa Grammar school okeagbe Akoko in 1972, Alhaji Ganny Amuda described the deceased as a selfless and straightforward person whose position among the old students would be difficult to fill.

Speaking on behalf of his children, the eldest, Mr Ayobami ogedengbe while saying their father lived a fulfilled life promised to build on the legacies he left behind.

Dignitaries at the burial ceremony included Rear Admiral Olu Alade RTD, A former member of the house of representatives, Alhaji Ganny Dauda and A director in the Ondo state ministry of information Mr Williams Olufunmi.

Late Ayodele Micheal Ogedengbe populaly called OGED died on August 20, 2020 and survived by Wife, Chidren and grandchildren.
