THE FINAL JOURNEY HOME FOR THE LATE VETERAN JOURNALIST, AYODELE MICHAEL OGEDENGBE BEGAN YESTERDAY WITH A WAKE AT HIS OBA ILE RESIDENCE IN AKURE.

THE ATMOSPHERE WAS GLOOMY AS THE BODY OF THE LATE OGEDENGBE LAID IN A WHITE COFFIN.

IN A SERMON, PASTOR EMMANUEL MOYINJESU OF THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD ADMONISHED THE PEOPLE TO SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND THINGS THAT WOULD GIVE GLORY TO GOD WHILE STILL ALIVE.

QUOTING THE BOOK OF MATHEW CHAPTER 6 VERSE 33, PASTOR MOYINJESU WHO SAID SERVING GOD WAS COMPULSORY AND NON-NEGOTIABLE ADVISED PEOPLE TO STOP COMMITTING SIN AS THEY WOULD GIVE ACCOUNT FOR ALL THEIR DEEDS ON EARTH.

IN A TRIBUTE, THE SON OF THE DECEASED, AYOBAMI OGEDENGBE SAID HIS FATHER’S LEGACIES LIVE ON, DESCRIBING HIM AS A LOVING, CARING AND HONEST PERSONALITY WHO DID NOT JOKE WITH WITH HIS WORDS.

ALSO, ONE OF THE DECEASED’S BROTHERS, STEVE OGEDENGE SAID HE WAS A MAN DEDICATED TO HIS JOB AND COMMITED TO TUTORING
YOUNGER COLLEAGUES.

DIGNITARIES THAT GRACED THE CEREMONY INCLUDED, CHAIRMAN OSRC/ORANGE FM, MR KUNLE ADEBAYO, REAR ADMIRAL ILESANMI ALADE, PRPROFESSIONAL COLLEAGUES, FRIENDS AND FAMILIES.

AGED 66, THE LATE VETERAN SPORTS JOURNALIST, POPULARLY KNOWN AS AYO OGED IS SURVIVED BY WIFE, CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN.

MEANWHILE, THE REMAINS OF LATE OGEDENGBE WILL BE BURIED TODAY IN HIS HOMETOWN AFTER A FUNERAL SERVICE AT ARCHDEACON LENNON ANGLICAN CHURCH, OKEAGBE.
