After six months of shutting down schools due to the corona virus pandemic, Some stakeholders in ondo state have appealed to the state govt to reopen schools in the interest of the pupils, Students and private school owners .

Those who spoke with Positive Fm were of the opinion that continuous closure of school was doing no one any good.

Some parents ,Pastor Erinoye, Mr Ayo ilesanmi and Mrs yomi ojo said people were now engaging in all kinds of activities that could spread corona virus faster than school premises saying that government should prioritise the interest of the pupils from primary to tertiary level and reopen schools for academic activities .

They said since everyone was aware of the safety procedure,  government should put a committee in place to monitor compliance when schools are reopened.

The parents said not all children were opportune to participate in online classes embarked upon by some schools due to inadequate power supply, poor telecom network services among others

Some teachers also added their voices to the fact that their livelihood depends more on reopening of schools.

The teachers who pleaded anonymity said government should be sensitive to the plight of the citizens .

In his own view, a professor of philosophy of Education,  Matthew Ayeni expressed the view that continuous closure of school was a deprivation on the part of the pupils and students and this may affect their thinking and reasoning psychology .
