Tinubu Advocates Review Of Nigeria’s Revenue Formula

The national leader of All progressives congress, APC , Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has called for timely review of the Nation’s revenue formula

Asiwaju Tinubu made the call in Akure during the commissioning of ondo state internal revenue services building

The APC Leader who observed some loopholes in the revenue formula appealed to governors in the southwest geopolitical zone to apply strategy used in Oodua investment to address the problems

Describing Ondo State as a great potential for energy, economy and agriculture, Asiwaju Tinubu said when the potentials were fully utilized and youths were engaged, social unrest in the region would become history

He however encouraged the residents of the state to see prompt payment of their taxes as obligation saying no nation could develop without contributions from its citizens

Earlier, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who said the state internally generated revenue had risen from five hundred million to two billion naira disclosed that the edifice cost less than eight hundred million naira

Governor Akeredolu hinged the timely construction of the building on the need to create conducive environment for revenue workers thereby increasing the fortunes of the state.

The programme was attended by the bigwigs within the APC, including the pioneer national leader of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, Osun state Governor, Gboyega Oyetola and his Kogi counterparts, Yahaya Bello.
