Debate in Nigeria has become a healthy means to create more interactions between the voters and candidates of political parties prior to the date of election.
Chairman, Change the Voters Initiative, CVI, Dr Gbenga Abimbola made the remark during the group’s courtesy visit to Ondo State Sector Command of Federal Road safety Commission FRSC.
Dr Abimbola who solicited the supports of the security agencies on behalf of the group towards achieving a peaceful outting in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in ONDO State posited that CVI was not in anyway partisan but to be fair to all stakeholders during its state wide debate.
Earlier, ONDO State FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Hassan applauded CVI’s innovation towards a peaceful Conduct of election noting that political party supporters must know that election should not be a do or die affair.
Meanwhile, the Ondo state commissioner of police Mr Bolaji Salami has pledged to make adequate security available on the two days of the debate.
While giving a vote of thanks on behalf of CVI group, the state acting director of National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mrs Olawunmi Famuyiwa lauded FRSC and the Police for their usual supports towards a just course.
Dignitaries who visited the security agencies included the general manager of Positive FM Akure , Mr Tunde Abiodun and his NTA counterpart, Mr Segun Ojelade.
The political debate of CVI is slated for 29th of September and 4th of October 2020.
