The organised labour says it is ready to proceed with the nationwide protest and strike beginning from 12am tonight over failure of the Federal Government to reverse the pump price of petrol and electricty tariff.

TUC General Secretary, Musa Lawal told newsmen that there was no going back on the protests and industrial action and urged all state chapters of TUC and NLC and their affiliates to sustain mobilisation for the action.

Comrade Lawal enjoined workers in the Federal Capital Territory to converge on the Unity Fountain, Maitama, Abuja at 8am tomorrow for the protest rally.

NLC General Secretary, Comrade, Emmanuel Ugboaja also said the organised labour was aware that some persons or group had been sponsored to distract the workers in the struggle.

He stressed that the organised labour could not be coward or stopped from demanding for the welfare of the working class and poor Nigerians masses.

Comrade Ugboaja clarified that the ultimatum served by TUC and NLC expires midnight today and not midnight tomorrow.

He explained that both protest and strike would go on simultaneously tomorrow and maintained that the organised labour remain open to dialogue with the Government until it effects reversal of the petrol pump price and the electricity tariff.
