The Director- General, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has expressed the readiness of corps members that will participate in the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo state to build on the feat recorded in Edo state.
Brigadier General Ibrahim stated this when he paid homage to the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo in his palace.
The DG who led some management staff of the scheme to the Dejis palace said the corps members had been briefed on the need to work within necessary guidelines during the election and in accordance with their training in preparation for the poll.
He however urged Ondo state residents not to be hostile to corps members as they are not indegenes of the state and do not have any interest in any candidate.
Brigadier General Shuaibu also commended the ondo State Traditional institution for the hospitality given to corps members deployed to the state.
In a remark, Oba Aladetoyinbo who described political activities in the state as tense expressed the confidence that corps member who would work as adhoc staff in next week’s governorship poll would help to achieve a free and fair election.
The monarch added that voters in Ondo state should put the interest of the state first in their hearts when casting their votes.
