Candidates participating in this saturday’s governorship election have cautioned their supporters against violence during and after the poll.
The candidates, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN of the PDP, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN of the APC and Oyeleye Fasua of the SDP made the call at the governorship debate organised by FACE THE VOTERS INITIATIVE and held at the DOME, Igbatoro Akure.
They said no election is worth the life of any resident of Ondo state hence the need for political supporters to maintain law and order prior to the poll and after election results are released.
The candidates of PDP, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, APC, Mr Eyitayo Jegede and SDP Oyeleye Fasua called on security agencies in the state to rise to the challenge of ensuring that the election was held under a peaceful atmoshere.
The candidates during the debate presented their policy thrust which focused mainly on infrastructure development, industrialisation, improved security, Qualitative and affordable healthcare, Free healthcare for Children under 5 and pregnant woman.
Chairman of the FACE THE VOTER INITIATIVE, Dr Gbenga Abimbola had earlier said the debate was to enable the electorate to know the candidates’ plan and policies for them with a view to helping them make the right choice on the day of election.
The candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP did not show up for the debate.
