President Mohammadu Buhari says he avoided going into a debate about the Lekki Toll Gate incidents until all the facts are established .
The President who gave the clarification in a statement also appealed to Nigerians to maintain peace and brotherhood while awaiting prosecution of the perpetrators of murder, arson, stealing, rape, assault and malicious damage to public and private property .
He expressed support for judicial panels of enquiry set up by state governments to give justice to peaceful protesters who lost their lives and property owners whose assets were vandalised .
President Buhari said the administration was working hard through numerous pragmatic ways to reduce the hardship faced by the unemployed, poor citizens, victims of the harsh economic effects of Covid-19 pandemic and discouraged widespread organized looting and plundering of public and private property.#
