An Herbal remedy researched to cure covid 19 virus has been put up for clinical trials.
Already , the herbal remedy has been administered to sixteen COVID-19 patients already, out of which eleven were cured, two still on treatment while three were awaiting test result to determine their status.
The duration for treatment takes up to five to seven days.
The Chairman , Plateau state Research team on Covid-19 , Professor Noel Wonnan made this known while presenting the interim report to Governor Simon Lalong in Jos.
Professor Wonnan who explained that the drug had successfully passed the laboratory and animal testing stage, said it was safe and ready for clinical trial which according to him requires a significant number of volunteers.
Professor Wonnan expressed confidence in the progress of the drug development considering that the team was strictly following the process of a drug development that would be globally accepted.
Receiving the report, Governor Simon Lalong commended the research team for a job well-done and pledged to give it all the support it needed to succeed
The team was giving a standing ovation by the members of the state Executive council.#
