The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee in its 143rd meeting, has named 72 successful candidates for the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
The statement, which was signed on behalf of the Committee by the Director of Press and Information of the Supreme Court, Dr Festus Akande, comprises 62 advocates and 10 in the academics category.
The successful candidates include the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practice and other related offences Commission, Prof Bolaji Owasanoye, in the academics category.
Two former General Secretaries of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Isiaka Olagunju, Mr. Afam Osigwe andaand Ondo state born Remi Olatubora are on the list.
According to the statement, they will be sworn-in on the 14th of next month.
The rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria is awarded as a mark of excellence to members of the legal profession who have Distinguished themselves as advocates and academics.
