John Muiruri Mburu of Kenya has emerged as the winner of the 21km (half marathon) at the maiden edition of the Kaduna Marathon.
The inaugural edition of the race which featured 10km, 5km, and 21km races took place on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
In the other categories, Mohammed Sani Musa (Kaduna State) won the men’s category of the 5km race.
Kangyang Solomon (Plateaus State) won the female category of the 10km race, while 15-year-old Gyang David wins the 10km race in his first national appearance.
The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod who gracefully attended the marathon praises Kaduna State Government and Nilayo Sports for organizing the first half marathon race in Kaduna.
The sun of $10,000 was presented to John Muiruri Mburu (Kenya) the winner of the men’s 21km (half marathon) at the maiden edition of the Kaduna Marathon.
Organisers of the Kaduna Marathon 2020 received about 7000 entries. Runners trooped in in their thousands to make history as the first participants of the Kaduna Marathon. Some of the top Nigerian athletes competing in the 21km are Shehu Mu’azu, Ismael Sadjo and Danjuma Gyang.
