Artisans in Ondo State have appealed to the Federal Government to effect timely payment of the artisan survival fund to the remaining members enumerated for the fund.

The group had earlier protested an alleged reduction in the earlier shortlisted artisans from four thousand, five hundred to two thousand five hundred.

Addressing Government House Correspondents in Akure, Secretary General of the Artisans, Mr Bamidele Omoode decried reduction in the beneficiaries list by almost 40 percent.

He therefore appealed to the Federal Government to ensure the survival fund cut across the shortlisted beneficiaries as done in other states.

Another leader of the group, Comrade Eni Olaniran said less than two percent had been paid despite assurance from the agency that all enumerated Artisans would benefit from the fund.

Responding, the state lead enumerator from the federal level, Mr Alaba Akinlaja had maintained that the enumeration was done at the artisans shops noting that the payment was being awaited from the Bank of Industry via Ondo state Micro Credit Agency.
