Nigerians based on the present economic situation occasioned by covid 19 pandemic have over the months mounted pressure on the federal govt to release intervention fund to cushion effects of the pandemic on them.

One of the means towards addressing this was the federal government’s #30,000 naira intervention fund for youths in micro small and medium enterprises

Divergent opinions have however started trailing the proposed 30,000 naira based on current economic realities in the country.

Some youths in Akure, Ondo state capital, Adewumi Adetoun and Martins Alo who commended the initiative however lamented that the grant was too paltry based on the flying rate of inflation

Adewumi Adetoun recommended that the #30, 000 naira be given to outgoing corp members and undergraduates to kickstart their entrepreneural interests.

Martins Alo who wondered what the youths can achieve with 30,000 without electricity and good road network however charged the government to avoid playing politics with the fund rather, it should push a worthwhile amount that would change the lot of the youths

On their part , an entrepreneur, Temitope Awoso and youth coach Martin mary falana however enjoined the youths to start small and plan with the grant.

A young Agropreneur, Olalekan Bankole advised the federal government to create new opportunities for the youths to tap into rather than grants which many would see as national cake.

Other respondents who spoke with Radio Nigerian wanted the youths to see the grant as seeds which if well invested despite the ailing economy would change the lot of the youths.
