The Deji’s Palace in Akure has reacted to the fraca that broke out  in the capital city of Ondo state on Sunday evening saying no life was lost to the incident

It was reported yesterday that one person who is a follower of masquerade was reportedly stabbed by an Igbo trader and feared dead.

The incident led to a clash between some Igbo traders and Akure youths in the heart of the city, as they engaged in gun duel.

Positive fm learnt that it took the efforts of security agents deployed to the area to bring the situation under control.

Reacting to the incident, the Chief Press secretary to the Deji of Akure, Michael Adeyeye said the situation was already under calm saying no life was lost in the incident.

Adeyeye who spoke on behalf of the monarch said: “I am not aware that any life was lost. An Igbo man stabbed an Akure man, while the Akure people re-enforced themselves at Odopetu community.

“The man was injured and has been taken to a nearby clinic. The security men have handled the situation to restore peace.

“At this period, the Kabiyesi has finished every celebration. These post festival celebrations could be done without causing rancour or unrest in the town,” Adeyeye said.
