A Septugenarian Usman Okebi and two of his sons have lost their lives during a gun duel  with some members of the Amotekun Corps as well as some herdsmen in the ancient town of Ayete in Ibarapa North Local Government area of Oyo state.

According to Seriki fulani in Igangan area, one Saliu, had alleged that some officers of the amotekun corps stormed the Fulani compound in the area and started shooting at some people without no cause.

But an officer of Amotekun corps in the area who did not want his name mentioned said they had wanted to rescue a kidnapped person kept in the area but were prevented by the old septugenarian and his two sons who started shooting at them.

Confirming the incident, The Police Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Command, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, said investigations had begun into the case.

Positive Fm gathered that many houses were razed during the incident.

The Commandant of Amotekun Corps in Oyo State, Retired Col. Olayinka Olayanju said he would react to the incident soon.

Meanwhile, Vigilantes in Igangan have caught two herdsmen with huge amount of money and AK 47  at a beer palour, in lgangan and have been handed over to the police.

In the meantime, normalcy has ŕturned to the Ayete Community after the incident.
