Governor Babagana Zulum has supervised the enrolment of one thousand, one hundred and sixty three children of Internally Displaced Persons into primary school in Damasak, headquarters of Mobbar local government.
The pupils who are from Abadam and Guzamala local governments, had been out of school since the displacement of their parents and guardians by Boko Haram insurgents.
Governor Zulum appealed to the parents to allow their children enroll in schools.
According to him, social welfare assistance from government would be restricted to parents who allow their children and wards to attend schools in areas where functional schools are provided.
The governor also addressed secondary school students in Damasak where he promised them government support to help actualize their dreams.
Prof Zulum had been in Damasak since Saturday morning where he launched the distribution of water pumps, fertilizer, seeds, chemicals and five thousand naira cash to each of 1,200 irrigation farmers.
He also supervised the distribution of food items to 10,000 internally displaced families in need of support.
