The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria are through to the final of the 2021 WAFU U17 Cup in Lome after defeating stubborn Burkina Faso 1-0 in the first semifinals of the competition.

Michael Emmanuel puts Nigeria ahead in the 77th minute scoring the only goal of the tough encounter. Both teams were unable to find the back the back of the net in the first half.

Favorites, Burkina Faso following their five goals scored in their two group games were shocked by the five-time world champions. Eaglets had struggled in the group stage with just one point from two games and winning their first match in the competition saw them in the final and picking the CAF U17 African Cup of Nations.

Holders, Nigeria awaits winners between Cote d’Ivoire and Niger Republic in the final.

The two finalists will have automatic qualification for the 2021 CAF U17 African Nations Cup.
