Kwara state government has warned that it will sanction any school found violating safely measures put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Kemi Adeosun stated this while speaking with Journalists in Ilorin.

According to her the state government has constituted a monitoring team to ensure strict compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols in the nooks and crannies of the state.

Mrs Adeosun advised school managements to ensure all safely kits provided by the state government are deployed for the use of the students.

In his remark the chairman Nigeria Union of teachers (NUT) Kwara state branch, Olu Adewara urged teachers to take the issue of COVID-19 more seriously.

He also advised parents to ensure adequate safety of their children while at home
