As part of measures to manage the second wave of the coronavirus infection, Osun state Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has ordered all Commissioners and Special Advisers in the state to take compulsory Covid-19 test to ascertain their health status.
He has directed all drivers in his convoy , domestic staff and aides attached to senior government officials to present themselves for similar screening.
Citizens are therefore urged to follow suit as early detection is the key to avoiding tragic outcome that has accompanied this second wave.
While addressing journalists, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode stated that government had increased testing capacities across all the local government areas at no cost to citizens.
Mrs Egbemode further explained that only two members of the cabinet returned positive and have since gone into isolation and undergoing treatment with confirmation that they are stable, and that a repeat test would be conducted in a few days to check their progress.
The Governor also called on citizens and residents to ensure they continue to observe Covid-19 protocols at all times.
