Mr Joe Biden will today be sworn in as as the 46th president of the United States of America.

His Vice, Kamala Harris will also take the oath of office alongside in Washington DC, which has been fortified amid fears of civil unrest.

Kamala is making history as the first woman to be elected as US vice president.

Meanwhile the swearing in ceremony will take a different dimension as few people would be allowed into the venue in view of the ravaging coronavirus pandemic.

Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are among dignitaries slated to attend the epoch making event.

Some 25,000 troops will guard the inauguration ceremony after a deadly riot at the Capitol earlier this month.

Donald Trump will leave the White House for the last time, bound for Florida.
