Principals of Secondary Schools in Ondo town of Ondo state want public spirited people to support the education of brilliant, but indigent students.
They spoke to Positive fm during a visit to their schools.
The principal of saint Monica’s girls Grammar school ondo, Chief Mrs Adeola Akinseloyin appealed to Philanthropists and well meaning Nigerians to assist indigent students facing economic challenges.
The principal said that most of the students were exceptionally brilliant but had challenges of paying school bills and purchasing needed learning materials.
Chief Mrs Akinseloyin hinted that she had taken it upon herself to look out for friends and old students of the school who could assist in sponsoring the education of the children.
Similarly at the saint James secondary school ondo ,the principal ,Dr Adebayo Famakinwa stressed that a lot of indigent pupils in the school were facing a lot of challenges in buying learning materials making things difficult for the teachers .
Dr Famakinwa who took it upon himself to fix some of the school facilities said the condition of the most of the structures were dilapidated and affecting the teaching-learning process.
He called for improved attention by all stakeholders.
