The Federal Government is harnessing all concerted efforts with sincerity of purpose to tackle problems bedevilling the Nigerian people.

The Minister of state for Niger Delta affairs, Senator Tayo Alasoadura gave this indication at the launch and handing over of Ondo Township Erosion Control Works in Ondo West council area of Ondo State.

The four kilometers project was one of the eleven ecological intervention projects approved by President Muhammad Buhari in 2017 but completed in 2019.

The Minister of state for Niger Delta affairs, Senator Tayo Alasoadura said the Federal government had been engaging different approaches to address poverty in the land.

The Minister who asked the Ondo people to jealously guard the project pointed out that the completed Erosion Control Works would greatly address the devastating effects of erosion and flood menace in Ondo community.

Also speaking, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo who thanked the Federal government for the gesture admonished the people not to use the flood channel for refuse dumping.

The residents applauded the Federal government for completing the gigantic protect to protect their property.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ecological Fund Office, Office of the Secretary to the government of the Federation , Dr Habiba Lawal represented by Mr Matthias Eluma expressed the hope that the project would arrest the continuous erosion and flood menace in the community.

Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of certificate of ownership to Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom , Oba Victor Kiladejo by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
