A middle aged man, Chukwuemeka Obijiofor is now in police custody for allegedly killing his wife and child in Ofufe Nza village, Ozubulu, in Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra state.
According to a release by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Muhammed, the 28-year-old man, Obijiofor who allegedly ran amok, attacked the victims with a shovel on their heads.
Mr Muhammed explained that on the twenty sixth of January this year, the suspect whose mental state is yet to be ascertained attacked his twenty six year old wife, Chisom Chulwuemeka and his four year old child, Amanda with a shovel.
He equally used same object and wounded a vigilante man who tried to rescue the victims .
The PPRO said detectives visited the scene and rushed the victims to a hospital in Ozubulu where they were confirmed dead.
