The First Executive Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, is dead.
The former Minister of Works passed on Thursday morning in Lagos at the age of 91.
He was also a journalist who became Governor of Lagos State, Nigeria from 1979 to 1983.
Alhaji Jakande was later appointed Minister of Works under the late General Sani Abacha military regime from 1993 to 1998.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Confirmed the demise of the first civilian governor in a tweet.
