The Federal government is to engage another 30,000 graduates in Agricultural production to boost food Security in the Country.
To this end, the inaugural Ceremony of the project will commence with the 1000 selected graduates in Borno State next Month.
The Executive Secretary, National Agricultural Land Development Authority NALDA, Prince Paul Ikonne made this known when the Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum paid him a visit towards ensuring proper implementation of the project in the State.
Prince Ikonne who applauded the Commitment of Governor Zulum for rapid development of Borno State, said by extension the program would encourage farming among each household across the Federation.
“Last time, we announced based on the Mr President approval for us to get thirty thousand soil Doctors and Extension service provider Service. The training will be flagg off in Borno State on the first of March, this year”. He said.
The Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum said the visit was to cement the relationship between the state and NSLDA.
Governor Zulum gave assurance that the state would give all necessary supports towards realization of the Federation Agricultural Land Development and increase Food production.
“I have assured the Executive Secretary of NALDA that the Borno State Government would provide all the counterpart requirements for the program to kick start. We shall provide all the necessary supports in term of Land, Security and other farm inputs” Governor Zulum assured.
The Borno State Governor explained that the 1000 graduates Beneficiaries of the program were selected from all the local government areas of the State.
