What could have been described as a tragedy was averted this morning as officials and players of Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi were involved in a road accident on their way to Uyo, Akwa Ibom to honour their weekend match.
No life was lost to the incident as all players came out unhurt.
They however lost some valuables to the fire.
Media Officer of the club, Nasir explained that the bus conveying the players went up in flames when one of the tyres pulled out on motion causing an explosion.
Nasir said the accident ocurred at Kibo road around the popular Forest area after Jos in Plateau state.
Wikki Tourists are 10 on the 2020/2021 NPFL season with 13 points from 10 matches.
