The proposed restructuring as a way out of the nation’s economic problem must be driven by economic and financial viability instead of political expediency
The President, African Development Bank AfDB, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina made the suggestion while delivering a public lecture via Zoom to mark the second term inauguration of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Akure, Ondo State capital
Governor Akeredolu will be sworn in on Wednesday for a second term as the along side the deputy governor-elect, Mr Lucky Ayedatiwa.

In the virtual lecture entitled, “towards a new Nigeria, from federal fatherism to a commonwealth,” Dr Adesina described economic and financial viability as inevitable key for political stability, explaining that resources found in each state or state groupings should belong to them
He noted that with such step, Nigeria would be more economically viable.
Governor Akeredolu said action of South West states on security was for the collective wellbeing of Nigerians requesting for the support and understanding of all federating units including the Federal Government
Chairman of the occasion and former deputy Governor of Osun State, senator Iyiola Omisore, Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Fredrick Akinrutan, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi and the Minister of state for nigerdelta, Senator Omotayo Alasoadura were among dignitaries at the lecture.
