The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC is to establish an all female unit to compliment the different operations going on across the country.

Dr. Ahmed Audi who officially took over as the third Commandant General stated this at the handing over ceremony which was held at the Corps heaquaters in Abuja.

Dr Audi promised to bring new energy into the leadership of the corps while emphasizing training and retraining of personnel to meet the mandate of the Corps.

“The Agro-Rangers Unit which is the latest addition to the mandate of the Corps will also be repackaged and re-branded, we shall fortify the rangers with adequate training and retraining programmes to key into the agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure food security and banish hunger in the Country by protecting and securing farmers and their investments from incessant tracks by bandits cattle rustlers, terrorists and other criminal elements”, the CG said.

He also pledged to promote accountability and transparency in leading the NSCDC as well as reward hardwork and competence.

“My leadership shall uphold the tenets of meritocracy over and above any ethnic, religious, cultural or emotional affiliations. Hence, we shall review our methods and system of conducting promotion exercises for personnel and ensure we correct all anomalies and imbalances in order to continue to motivate and strengthen the morale of our productive workforce.

“Preparatory to turning the Corps into a world class organization, I shall surround myself with a team of experts in their chosen endeavors, professionals in various fields and a think-tank that will spearhead the digitization process of the Corps”, he further added.

Dr Audi thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for finding him worthy of leading the NSCDC promising to Justify the confidence response in him.

The outgoing Acting Commandant General of the Corps, Hillary Madu urged the Officers and Men to support the new CG, explaining that he came to the job armed with age and experience.
