The Ondo State House Assembly says it will give accelerated attention to passage of a bill for a law to eliminate violence in private and public life and to provide for maximum and effective remedies for victim and punishment of offenders and other related matters.

The lawmakers gave the assurance at a public hearing held at the conference hall of the Assembly.

The Speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun while declaring the hearing open urged the committee members to do justice to the bill in the overall interest of the people of Ondo State especially the women folk.

In an opening remark, the Chairman of the hearing Ad hoc Committee, Mr Toluwani Borokini said no aspect of the bill would be left unattended to and necessary steps would also be taken to ensure accelerated passage of the bill.

At the hearing various organizations, agencies, Non governmental organizations submitted memoranda and gave hints on grey areas of the bill that needed amendment.
